Mission Statement

Since the 1910s with the first local Boy Scout Troops and in June 1920 with the formation of the Council and its charter with National, Wichita Falls and surrounding communities have had the opportunity to be involved in Scouting. The Mission of Scouts BSA is ‘To prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Aims of the BSA is to promote character development, citizenship training and mental and physical fitness. We serve over 2,000 youth members in almost 100 units in the following 12 north Texas counties along the Red River (Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, King, Knox, Montague, Throckmorton, Wichita, and Wilbarger.)

Vision Statement

The Boy Scouts of America is the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.

In the future Scouting will continue to:
·        Offer young people responsible fun and adventure;
·        Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;
·        Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;
·        Serve America’s communities and families with its quality, values-based program.
